Uzbekistan gained independence on August 31, 1991, following the collapse of the Soviet Union. The road to national revival started from a negative angle. Ms. Fariza, who spent that period in Uzbekistan, will share her own experiences. In addition, Uzbekistan is now attracting a great deal of attention for its resources and vast land in the wake of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, and on September 2, a deal with Saudi Arabia for an investment of more than $12 billion was concluded.
