Uzbekistan's Prime Minister Abdullah Alipov has announced his country's intention to generate more than 8 GW of electricity from renewable energy sources in the next few years in view of the SDGs. Uzbekistan currently relies on electricity from its own natural gas for much of its total electricity production. How does the country intend to increase its share of renewable energy?
