Meeting with the US ambassador to Japan, Mr. Rahm Emanuel
I was invited as one of the #entrepreneurs in Japan, who has office at CIC to have a discussion with the ambassador regarding the recent developments in the #Japanese#startup#ecosystem, it’s challenges and ways we can overcome them.
I believe we can grow further Japanese startup ecosystem and connect it #globally through amazing initiatives CIC is organizing by involving politicians, governments, cooperation and other key players necessary in our ecosystem.
Briefly about the ambassador:
Rahm Emanuel was confirmed in a bipartisan vote as the 31st United States Ambassador to Japan on December 18, 2021. Previously, Ambassador Emanuel was the 55th Mayor of the City of Chicago, a position he held until May 2019.
Prior to becoming Mayor, from November 2008 until October 2010, Ambassador Emanuel served as President Barack Obama’s Chief of Staff. In addition to being the President’s top advisor, the Ambassador helped the Obama administration secure the passage of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 and the landmark Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
