About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned and relationship-driven Sales Executive to lead client acquisition and revenue growth in the Japanese market. This is a full-time, on-site role based at our Tokyo office, working directly with the founder. 


As a senior member of our team, you will engage with executives at major Japanese corporations to understand their innovation and global partnership needs. You will help craft and deliver tailored consulting and cross-border collaboration solutions, acting as both a strategic advisor and a commercial lead. Your work will bridge Japan and Europe, supporting top-tier clients in navigating emerging technology trends and international innovation ecosystems. 


This is a unique opportunity to combine business development, thought leadership, and consultative selling within a dynamic and international context.

Key Responsibilities

Client Relationship Development

  • Identify and build trusted relationships with decision-makers (General Managers, Division Heads, C-level executives) at major Japanese corporations

  • Leverage your professional network to open new opportunities for Trusted’s services

  • Understand client priorities around innovation, global partnerships, and new business creation


Consultative Sales & Deal Structuring

  • Lead strategic sales discussions, co-creating solution proposals with our innovation team

  • Prepare and deliver customized proposal documents in Japanese (with internal support as needed)

  • Negotiate terms and drive engagements to close deals, aligning outcomes with client needs


Business Development Strategy

  • Contribute to Trusted’s Japan market strategy and go-to-market approach

  • Share client and industry insights to inform service design and positioning

  • Represent Trusted at innovation forums, executive roundtables, and industry workshops


Internal Collaboration

  • Work closely with the founder, project managers, and European partners to ensure alignment

  • Participate in high-level discussions on positioning, storytelling, and growth

  • Act as an internal advocate for clients, helping translate commercial opportunities into project scopes


Ideal Candidate People

Experience

  • 7+ years in consulting, enterprise sales, or B2B account management with a focus on innovation, strategy, or international business

  • A strong network of senior contacts (GM, CXO level) in sectors such as manufacturing, mobility, energy, or technology

  • Deep familiarity with Japanese corporate culture and decision-making processes


Skills & Qualities

  • Native-level fluency in Japanese; strong storytelling and communication abilities

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a proven track record of closing complex, high-value deals

  • Comfortable translating business needs into actionable consulting engagements

  • English proficiency preferred, especially for collaboration with global team members


Cultural Fit

  • Motivated by long-term relationships, strategic thinking, and real-world impact

  • Operates effectively in agile, non-hierarchical environments

  • Embodies a client-first approach and takes pride in enabling meaningful innovation

About the Role

Compensation

Salary negotiable based on experience and performance.

We offer a competitive base compensation, plus performance-based incentives tailored to seniority and business impact.

Interview Process

1. Online Interview — initial conversation to assess alignment and expectations


2. In-Person Interview — held at our CIC Tokyo office with the founder


3. Case Project — Review a sample client case and suggest a tailored sales approach or opportunity identification strategy (completed in 2–3 days)
